In Botanical Biennale, a series of silkscreen-printed billboards designed by In the shade of a tree, Orlow maps the origins of what grows, mostly overlooked, in the Giardini, around the Arsenale, and at Forte Marghera. He presents the plants not as a passive backdrop of history and the Biennale, but as agents that move with humans across the world. These migrations trace and trouble the terms native and nation.
