Kiehl.(re)connecting.earth | Kiel, Germany

How is it possible in a technological urban world full of stimulation to maintain a connection with other species that share our direct environment? Building on the (re)connecting.earth (02) Biennial from Geneva, the edition “Beyond Water” evolved into a nomadic version in Kiel, featuring the works of 31 artists in two museums and in public space.

This edition highlights the diversity of urban ecosystems and the richness of contemporary art production with an environmental focus. It explores the artistic potential of using scientific knowledge to draw attention to, imagine, listen to, and visualize living forms. Thanks to the works of the chosen artists and local initiatives, the Kiel Fjord and parks will become a landscape of creativity, reflection, and participation.

Beyond Water | Reconnecting Earth Biennial II, Geneva

The second edition of the (re)connecting.earth biennial of art and urban nature aims to (re)focus attention on the natural elements that make up our urban environment. After exploring urban gardens and eco-neighbourhoods in 2021, the 2023 biennial of art and urban nature is taking shape around the theme of lakes and water. EVA International, Limerick | Agitationism

Agitationism, on the one hand, is the condition of living under a constant flow of agitations, including the ones that you inevitably sometimes produce yourself. However, it is also the process of ‘working through’ them with the aim of seeking adaptation to a logic situated somewhere else beyond the entrapment between past, present, and future—three tenses that overlap in the contemporary moment, creating a kind of palimpsest of half undone histories, half imagined futures, and a present of phantasms as a consequence.
